Events exploration, building, set up and promotion – your how-to guide
Approaching the world of events is both exciting and occasionally overwhelming. It can feel like a daunting task, as all too easily it can look and feel like an overcrowded market place, filled with authors and illustrators who are experts at putting themselves out there, who have countless regularly scheduled events, and who, when they get to an event know automatically exactly what to say and to do, and exactly how to entertain an audience. Take some time to understand what event options are out there, and which are best suited to you and your book(s), to build an event - or portfolio of event options - that interests you and delights and converts your audience (to sales, to becoming long term fans).
This course will enable you to:
- get started and understand your unique story/ unique offering and strengths in potential events
- explore opportunities from the start or build on your events offering
- look at everything from event type and content – the building of your events offering and set up tips and tricks, to placing and selling your events, and event promotion too.
We’ll be considering our new world order – post lockdown, mid-Corona-virus - and what is worth offering, building, or adapting for your audience, and how this can link to sales.
With practical activities and useful checklists, this course will enable you to create and/or audit your event content and what you are offering, establish routines and processes, and understand event promotion.
